Day 3

Day 3 is a good day. I am sitting outside on the computer in the sun getting some vitamin D. It is beautiful out. I wish I was allowed to move things, because sitting back here is hard to see the screen because of the glare. I need the umbrella up, but is definitely way to heavy for me to be lifting. So I will just sit out here until I can't see anymore or get too warm. As I thought it was smart to come out in black lounge pants and a jacket. The pants are now rolled up to my knees and the jacket is off. I didn't think 62 would be this warm.

Today is also a good day because my friend Meighan is in town from Dallas visiting her cousins. She is going to stop by and see me today. She and my other friend Stephanie on her last day of maternity leave came over yesterday and brought me lunch. They were only able to stay for a few hours, but those few hours really help. By the end of Day 1, I told Josh that I had killed some brain cells watching Toddlers and Tiaras. It is a train wreck, you just can't stop watching. Especially when noting else is on. Josh went into work early today, so it will still be day light when he get off of work. I was so surprised when he was getting out of bed at 5:15 this morning. So pretty much once Meighan has to leave to pick up her cousin's kids from school, Josh should be home!

Tomorrow we are having a BBQ for our best friend and old roommate Kevin for his 30th. I was all excited about it because I love to entertain at our house.
Jamie & I @ Nadja's B-day in Dec.
My roommate Jamie from college is seeing Kevin right now, so it is an added bonus, I get to see her too. Her and I were going to have fun and bake his birthday cake. Now I get to watch her do it. And if anyone knows me well enough it is hard for me to watch people do everything. Not that I am complaining, I just have a hard time with it. For example, I had to leave a note for Josh last night to take out the trash and get the dogs water because I can't and I didn't want him to forget. I felt like that mean wife telling my husband what to do. I know I will have to get over it. Either way I am excited about having people over tomorrow and it looks like the weather is going to be okay! Sunday is another story.

I talked to the doctor's office yesterday about when I can go back to work. She is not releasing me until I go to see her which is on Friday, March 11th. I tried asking if I could go back to work on the 7th and still come and see her on the 11th. I got a big fat no and that I needed to take it easy. So I am doing what the doctor told me.

Here are some prego pictures of me growing. I know I don't look at big, but definitely don't fit into my pants comfortably at all anymore, if even at all. I feel bigger at night than I do in the morning. I am sure one morning I am going to rollover and they will have popped. I am just waiting for the two of them to make my tummy huge.

Day 1 of Best Rest

Hello~

So it is day 1 of best rest and I am creating a blog for our babies journey. We discovered we were pregnant on Dec 22nd. My HCG level was above the charts. It was supposed to be at 50 to show we were pregnant and mine was 280. We had to go back two days later to see if it increased. It was supposed to double within 2 days. Well it did double, it came out to 618 on the 24th. So it is true on Christmas we got the best gift ever. We are expecting a baby. It was truly amazing.

Expecting Couple at our Ugly Sweater Party
We started to tell the family over the next 24 hours. We didn't tell our friends until our 4th Annual Ugly Sweater Party on the 26th. We wanted to surprise them all at once.

We expected that something was going on since my HCG was so high. We had put three embryos in during the transfer, so there was  possibility that we could be having triplets. We went back on the 31st of Dec to see if the embryo was in the right spot and okay. When we were there, I was joking with Josh on how many does he want to bet are in there. Right away I saw the two embryos. We only saw two. The doctor said it was too early to ensure both of them were going to be okay, so we waited yet again. The next time we went to the doctor was on Jan. 10th. That was probably one of longest waits for me. I was not sure what was going to happen. We went in and saw both of their heartbeats. They were at 130 each. So it was true at 7 weeks pregnant, we were having twins!
New Years Ever. Today we found out it was twins...

We have been back to our OB twice for regular check ups and everything was still looking good. At 11 weeks we went to the OB and she was able to pull up the heartbeats for us to hear for the first time. It was amazing. One was at 150 and the other 160, I think. I forget already. Opps. Here is the picture from our first OB appointment.

7 weeks baby A and B.  Jan 13.
We did our 12 week ultra sound on Friday 2.18. Our OB has us a high risk pregnancy because of having twins from IVF. The ultrasound was for over a hour. It look awhile, but I didn't care one bit  because it was great to see them moving around like crazy. They both were at 162 for the heartbeats and measuring about 6.5 cm in length. They are so tiny. Josh was not able to go with me. This was the first time he wasn't there. However, the place I am going to is great. They gave us pictures, cd, and dvd of everything. I will post some here in a little bit. While at the office they also looked for markers in the babies for downs. They said everything was looking good. They had their guesses for their sex, but wanted to confirm in the week 18 ultrasound. So we have to wait until the week of March 28th sometime when we schedule our appointment.

High Five! I have all my fingers.

A shot of both of them.

Baby A. One the left side being smashed by baby B.

Baby B. Which is on the right side of my body.

When I got home from the appointment, I shared a fun little trick on Josh. I told him that they found the 3rd baby and that we were having triplets. He didn't like that too much. But he did believe me, which made it even more funny. He loved watching the dvd. I was so glad I was able to still share that with him since he couldn't be with me in the appointment.

Dinner at with Az Family

We went to dinner Sunday night with Josh's grandparents, and sister Joey's family. Here is a picture of everyone. It is was taken on the cell phone. So it is not that clear.

Now that you have read through all of this, you are thinking everything sounds great, why is she on bed rest. Well yesterday, I was at work and experienced some bleeding. I called my OB and they sent me to the ER. We went right away. They went ahead and ran a bunch of tests on me. My cervix was still closed, so there is not fear of that being a problem right now. They did an ultrasound and the tech stated that the babies would not hold still while she was trying to take a look at them. By the end of all the tests the ER doctor told me that everything looked good with the babies and me. She consulted with my OB. She said that it is common for IVF pregnancy to get some bleeding here and there. And my OB put me on bed rest for precautionary measures for two weeks.

I wanted to start a blog on the process of the pregnancy for my friends and family to see that don't live here with us in Az. However, between work, school, and everything else I am the worst on putting things like this together. Since I have some time on my hands, I figured I would give it a try. I will put up pictures from the ultrasound here in a little bit.
