Sunday...Progress on the Man Cave, Baby Shower, and Pool Time...The

Progress of the Man Cave

The split of the room Purdue and Notre Dame.

Here are some of my prints of Purdue. I can't get the stupid photo to rotate. We have Harry's, the Bell Tower, and the Union.

The start of the ND wall. With only the Fathead so far.

Josh's diploma vs mine. His is a  lot prettier. Oh well they mean the same thing.

Today Josh worked on hanging things in the man cave/ office. He just finished painting the shelves yesterday. So I helped him hang them up before I left for Katy's baby shower. Katy's is a friend of mine that lives out here from grade school. It was really nice to see her today.

Katy and I at her shower.

You can't really see my belly in this picture. So I have two more to show the progress of my belly at 17 weeks.

When I got home from the shower, Josh was laying out by the pool. I decided to join him. Here is a better shot of my belly. And yes, as long as I can fit into my bikini's I will be rocking them. I think that is so cute when you see a prego in a bikini.

Off of bed rest!

We went to the OB this morning. She asked me what I was doing this weekend. My response to her was, "well what am I allowed to do?" She hadn't confirmed or talked about my bed rest at this point. I thought she had forgotten. She said that everything looked good and that I was off of bed rest. The babies heartbeats were 140's and 150's. The thing that amazed me is, I am 15 weeks. She touched my stomach just twice and could tell where the babies were at.  She informed me that if I bleed again at all for more than 3 days, that I will have to go back on bed rest for 2 weeks again. It is what they do with women pregnant with twins. She said that I can walk and swim, nothing more than that for working out. I am still not allowed to lift anything over 20 lbs.  Other than that, she said I was good to go. My OB stated that I will be probably be on restrictions or bed rest once 28 weeks rolls around. And she is expecting to deliver me around 38 weeks. We are going to do a c-section. She stated it is safer this way and most likely the babies are not going to be in the right position. I know a c-section can hurt, but I rather know that myself and the babies will be fine during delivery.

We go back next weeks for an ultra sound! Let's see if we can get confirmation on what we are having. I am truly hoping for a boy and girl, but I am telling everyone that I think it is going to be two boys.

Josh finished painting this office/ his man cave today. We have some friends coming over tomorrow to help him more some furniture, paint the nursery, and put the cribs together. While all of this is going on, I will be taking pictures of sweet baby Keira. It is for her 3 month shot. It is a little late, but I wasn't able to do much when she turned 3 months. Probably wouldn't have gotten the best shots from the bed. I promise to post pictures of the projects.

Day 16 Day Rest

Hopefully on the last night of bed rest. I have survived. It is amazing how much I found to keep myself busy. I go to the OB tomorrow morning. Let's see if the babies have behaved themselves over the last two and half weeks. I have been feeling good and haven't been any pain, so I am crossing my fingers that everything is going well too. My belly is growing so I am assuming that is a good sign. We shall see. I will post an update tomorrow.

Four Year Ago...

Four years ago our life was turned upside down when Josh was diagnosed with leukemia. With all of the support from family and friends Josh is doing great. As his sister says he is a walking miracle. Now we have our own miracle to celebrate. We are expecting twins this August. We are so excited to see our family grow. With everything that Josh has gone through it only seems right to decide to bank our babies stem cells. We are going to save our baby's newborn stem cells with Cord Blood Registry. Newborn stem cells are showing promise as a treatment option for conditions such as brain injury and juvenile diabetes, and have already been saving lives for decades, treating cancers and other serious diseases. We invite you to view our registry in hope that you may wish to contribute toward this special gift of stem cell banking and to our babies' future health. We appreciate anything you are able to assist us with. You can get there by clicking on the link below. Look for Sara Grise in Az.

Day 13 Bed Rest

Monday afternoon, I am sitting here listening to Pandora working on my homework. I definitely have things to keep me busy this week. I am my 5 week of class. With the hopes of getting off of bed rest, I am going to work on finishing all of my assignments by Thursday so I can get out of the house this weekend. I have been seating outside on the lounge chairs. Man does that help. Josh created a little tent for me with the umbrellas so I wouldn't get too much sun or get to hot. I had to seat outside yesterday while he worked on painting the office. I will post up pictures here soon of his progress. He officially has his sports room. It is navy and gold in there. It is going to be his Purdue and Notre Dame room. It is nice because we have lots of stuff to hang up that we haven't because we didn't know where to put it. Now we do. Two bad things about that is I have to work on getting off the prints framed.

I am working on many other things on for the babies from the computer. Please see the next post.

Day 10 Bed Rest

Hello Everyone~

So I just sat back down from a shower. Baby A is kicking up a storm. At least I think it is baby A. I was told this baby was on my left side. I have to say this is the first time I have felt one of move. And I know that it was not gas or my body growing. That was a crazy feeling. It makes me so happy and remember why I am home here on bed rest.

I told Josh yesterday, that I knew that I was an independent person, but not this independent. I need people to talk to.  I could call my sister who is a stay at home mom, but we went way over our minutes last month. So I have to behave myself this month. :( I am trying to get my sister to get her Skype working on her phone so we can talk that way. We are working baby steps with her on technology.

My throat is finally starting to feel better. I still don't have much of a voice. Good thing, I am not a work because I don't know if anyone could understand me. I am hoping it doesn't turn into a head cold or chest cold. Well at least I have time to rest it off.

Day 8 Bed Rest

Flowers from my hubby.
Since Bed rest is soooo interesting. I have waited a few days to get back on the blog. Friday Josh was a great hubby, since were having everyone over on Saturday he cleaned the house. He impressed me, he even got up early to go to Walmart on Saturday morning, he hates going to Walmart, but we needed doggy food. Also brought home flowers for me. When he had got home from the store, he wasn't done cleaning. He still had to clean up the mess mother nature created in our back yard. We had all of our plants freeze, so he has been working to clean up the yard. There has been such a mess that he has to take a few weeks to do it because our green bin fills up.

Birthday Boy!
Well Saturday was really nice. We had Mr. Fig over at our house for his 30th birthday! He has finally joined the group of 30. We had lots of company over, the best was all of my friends that hung out on the couch with me to keep me company.  I guess I really didn't take too many pictures, from the couch, but I did catch a picture of Jamie and I.
The weather is finally warming up here. I know I can't complain at all. I do not want the temps that Indiana is having. It has warmed up into the upper 70's. It is great. I hope we can keep this temp for a little while before the heat hits.

I am excited for this weekend. We are going to start painting the rooms at the house for the nursery. Well not me, I have asked some friends to come over and help Josh out with painting and putting the cribs together.  After the suggestion from two people, we are going to put the babies in the office and the change the extra room into Josh's room, office, and guest room. I told him he could pick the color for that room because I picked the paint for the baby room. He started to think of some colors, and when I made that comment, he decided that this room is going to be the sports room. He is going to paint Purdue on one side and ND on the other side. I told him as long as it looks okay and is not too dark. It is a smaller room and I didn't want it to look smaller than it is already is. So hopefully next week, I can start taking pictures to show you.
